One Man’s Near Death Experience with the Flu Shot |

Pains in legs — couldn’t sleep | |

Went to emergency room at Memorial Hospital- needed help to walk at 6:00 AM | |

At 3:00 PM couldn’t walk out of the emergency room | |

Dr. called Neurologist on call | |

Dr. Storey diagnosed condition over the phone and had me admitted to the hospital | |

Dr. Storey gave me a Spinal Tap and tests for nerve conduction - both confirmed my diagnosis | |

Lost complete control of body from waist down and became paralyzed in face and mouth. I was put into the ICU unit | |

Dr’s. believed that paralysis would spread to neck and I would lose breathing ability. The respiratory therapists tested me every hour to see if I could Still breathe. | |

4 bottle of I G E were given to me intravenously | |

Dr. specializing In "Blood Foresis" called in (Dr. Taft) from St. Peters. He did this procedure 3 or 4 times. | |

Developed "extreme pain" in legs and back and was put on IV pump pain killer for 2 days — My blood pressure reached dangerous levels - 200/ 120 and a Cardiologist was brought in (Dr. Fabregas) - He personally medicated me - 24 hours (overnight) for 2 days to bring my pressure down | |

Transferred to St. Peter’s Hospital - Physical Therapy - 3rd Floor | |
| Stayed in St. Peters until January 2, 1994 | ||
| Left St. Peters with a "walker" and spent next three months in "outpatient therapy" | ||
| Lost 40 pounds and had permanent rise in my "blood pressure" readings. | ||
